An antique style door would not look good in a minimalist home. So before deciding on which style of door you will install, you need to keep in mind that it is best to stick to one decorating theme. If you follow this rule, selecting the right doors should not be a difficult task to do. If your home has contemporary style, for instance, you can freely choose which type of door to use. You can choose from a wide selection of colors as well as materials. A contemporary home can use wooden door made from oak, pine, mahogany, or cherry wood, but you can also use doors made from metal or glass for a more modern touch. On the other hand, glass interior doors would look odd in a traditional style home.
These also do not typically include the same security requirements as an exterior door. What you can typically expect is a dummy system - there is no actual lock, just something that will keep the door closed until the knob is turned. You can include simple locks, however, if you want to offer additional privacy for your family members.
Modern interior doors made from wood or metal still generally use neutral colors such as white, black and brown. You can also use variations of those three colors such as off-white, gray, or light brown. Vibrant colors such as yellow, electric blue, light green, or bright red are rarely used in modern interior design. However, doors made from fabric glass do not follow this color rule as they often feature vibrant colors such as yellow and red with intricate flowery patterns.
